Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Booard Najam Sethi today complained of being manhandled by the members of Tahreek-e-Insaaf party outside The Oval where Sarfaraz Ahmad and his teammates clinched the ICC Champions Trophy and led to a whooping victory against arch rivals by 180 runs.
He said he experienced a physical spat with the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). Pakistan registered their comprehensive victory against India by 180 runs breaking their jinx against India.
“I was manhandled pushed and shoved by a small group of PTI supporters. Police pulled me to safety. Overwhelming love and affection though,” Sethi wrote in his first tweet. “Several journalists & eyewitnesses confirm a group chanting pro-PTI slogans was involved in manhandling @najamsethi outside Oval #PakVsIndia (sic),” said Murtaza Ali Shah, a London-based reporter for multiple Pakistan news outlets. To this Sethi replied, “That is correct.”
A twitter user from Pakistan rejected his claim of being publically manhandled by posting a video in which Sethi was shown going outside the stadium surrounded by Pakistani fans. He gave a caption “No one even touched Najam Sethi but he’s claiming he was attacked beaten and hustled. See the video & judge yourself.”
