Indore declared as India’s cleanest city, Gonda is dirtiest

As per the list released by Center, Indore was declared as the most cleanest city of the country while Gonda was termed as dirtiest city in Swachh Survekshan Survey.

Solid waste management company A2Z has played a crucial role in providing the base for Indore to become the cleanliest cities.

Managing director of the company Amit Mittal stated that the whole credit of this award goes to the municipal corporation and he further mentioned that without their cooperation his company would not have been able to achieve this goal.

Cities and towns across India are every year awarded with the title of ‘Swachh Cities’ on the basis of their cleanliness and sanitation drive as a part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the list was released by the Union Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu.



A the top of the list is the list is Indore in Madhya Pradesh while Gonda in Uttar Pradesh is the dirtiest city. Bhopal, another city from MP, ranked second, Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Surat in Gujarat have emerged as the third and fourth cleanest cities.

Keeping in mind the rankings of 2016, the top six cities at that time were Indore, Bhopal, Visakhapatnam, Surat, Tirupati and Vadodara– have improved their sanitation rankings. ujarat has maximum of 12 cities among top 50 clean cities followed by Madhya Pradesh with 11 and Andhra Pradesh with eight.
