Aligarh: Uttar Pradesh police has shown their cruel face in Aligarh on Thursday as they have mercilessly beaten up the people who were protesting on the street against the death of a six-year-old girl who was apparently raped before she was killed.
As per the sources, the demonstrators blocked the Khair Bypass road and protesters were thrashed by the police, even the children, women and senior citizen were not spared.
According to the witness, police blocked the demonstrators and pushed them to the ground, then caned them pitilessly. The footage of the violence was aired on several TV channels which has displayed cruel face of police. Cops could be seen pulling the women by the hair and throwing them to the ground before beating them. Tear gas shells and rubber bullets were also fired. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Nagla Kalar area on Thursday which sparked the violence and people started protesting, police used force to stop them in which several were injured.
According to the police, the minor girl was missing on Thursday morning and later her body was found in a garbage.
The victim's family has claimed that she was strangled to death after being sexually abused. The incident triggered a protest. Police fired in the air and used force to disperse the mob in which several persons, including two women, were injured. The circle officer of the police station, a Deputy SP rank officer, also allegedly thrashed the women protesters.
Additional DG (Law and Order) Arun Kumar ordered a probe and asked the Prakash D, DIG of Aligarh Division to submit his report within three days.
