Allahabad HC stays release of NRHM funds in UP

Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court gave Mayawati government a shock when it stayed the release of funds given under the NRHM scheme by the centre to the state on Thursday.

The court said that the proposal, sent by the state, be presented in the Cabinet first. The money should be released only after Cabinet approval.

The court has also sent a notice to the principal of the Gorakhpur Medical College asking the details of where the amount received from the Center was spent.

According to sources, the judgment proves that the money for the poor was used in some other purposes. The opposition says that the Maya government has been misusing NRHM funds.

Let us inform you that a petition was filed in the Allahabad High Court. The petition stated that the money that is coming from the center is not being used properly.

The next hearing will take place on February 23.
