New Delhi: CBI has detained some senior officers of the centrally governed telecom company BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) on the accusation of taking a bribe in lieu of providing cable contracts.In a related case, the agency probing into the matter has arrested the Chief General Manager from Kolkata. According to the sources, SK Satyarthi, CGM at Factory Circle, BSNL allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 3.25 lakh from the supplier on behalf of which he was arrested on Saturday night.
The information for his arrest was notified on Sunday. CBI laid a plot to apprehend the accused at a hotel in Kolkata, where after receiving the information of taking the bribe, the investigative team was quick to take actions.
