Anti-Bandh Facebook Post: 9 arrested for violence at clinic in Palghar

New Delhi: At least nine people were detained on Tuesday for vandalising a clinic of a doctor after an anti-Bandh Facebook post by his niece on Bal Thackeray's death.

According to reports, Shaheen Dhadha(21), resident of Palghar posted a comment on a Facebook page, questioning about the shutdown in Mumbai after Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's death.

Post Shaheen's comment, her uncle Dr Abdul Dhadha's hospital in Palghar was vandalised by some unidentified people.

As per sources, Shiv Sena president for Palghar city, Bhushan Sankhe, registered a case against Dhadha and her friend, Renu, who liked her comment.

Sources say that the two girls were arrested on Sunday by Thane rural police, but were granted bail after they furnished personal bonds.

Maharashtra Director General of Police Sanjeev Dayal ordered a probe into the arrest of Shaheen and her friend.
