Arushi-Hemraj murder case: Apex Court to hear bail plea on Monday

New Delhi: The bail pleas of the alleged accused in the Arushi-Hemraj murder case, doctor couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, will be heard by Supreme Court on Monday. Both are prime accused in the double murder case of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj. The murder was acted on May 16-17 in the year 2008.

The mother-father duo has alleged charges of murder along with the destruction of evidence from the spot. Apart from this, Rajesh Talwar has also been charged for misleading the investigators.

During the previous hearing, the apex court had issued notice to the CBI on Nupur's bail plea. Nupur's lawyer had told the court that, despite, the investigation was complete and a chargesheet had been filed, her passport still remained in the court’s custody.

The 14-years-old daughter of Rajesh and Nupur Talwa was found throat slit in Noida at her residence on the night of May 16, 2008. A day later, domestic help Hemraj was also found dead on the apartment's terrace.

One of the two prime accused in the case, Nupur Talwar had already surrendered before the trial court following a stiff direction from the Supreme Court, which had also refused to stay the non-bailable warrant issued against her by the lower court on her failure to appear despite issuing of summons.
