Prema is happy about this achievement and credits her parents for their timely support and encouragement. Residing in a noisy chawl of 300 sq feet never deterred this studious girl from her goal. Another good news for the family is that her brother too qualified for the same examination. Both the siblings had registered together with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India to take the test in November 2012.
On declaration of results, Prema said, "The former president of the CA Institute called me and said I'd topped the exam. I cried so much out of joy. I've never been happier. My father, mother and brother have encouraged me a lot. Credit goes to them for creating an environment where I could concentrate on my studies without any distractions."
Prema's father Jayakumar Perumal is an auto rickshaw driver and makes a lump sum amount of INR 15000 per month. Her mother works as a domestic help.
The proud parents have always boosted their daughter to pursue whatever she likes. "I have always encouraged her to study whatever she liked. Credit goes to my daughter for her hard work. Throughout her life she has always topped her exams," said her father.
Jayakumar has exhibits an excellent academic career. She secured 90 percent marks in her B.Com and stood second in examination conducted by Mumbai University.
