Bangladesh to serve masses through 20,000 new websites

Beijing: In order to provide e-service to the masses, Bangladesh is set to launch 20,000 websites under the National Portal Framework (NPF) by the end of 2015.

The websites will have information on the country, social safety nets, disaster warning, among other data, Anir Chowdhury, an official at the Prime Minister's Office, said at a seminar on Saturday.

Accoring to the reports, they will also include documents on land management, and forums for farmers and fishery workers.

The government will finance the training of officials for operating and updating contents on the websites, Chowdhury said. Content providers will be able to update and share data.
