Injured Messi misses record, Barca draws with Benfica
Madrid: Injured Argentinean, Leo Messi, missed the chance to level Gerd Muller's record of 85 goals in a calendar year during the Champions League Football. Ace footballer was stretchered off the pitch with eight minutes remaining in the game after appearing to damage his left knee in a clash with Benfica goalkeeper Artur.

He remained on the pitch for only 24 minutes before injury. Details about his health will be provided by the club soon. Meanwhile, Barca coach Tito Vilanova living up to his pre-match announcements, played with players grappling with fitness problems from the B-team.

Rafinha and Thiago Alcantara shared their first team place alongside david Villa and Christian Tello but the biggest surprise was Messi's absence.

In an overall great display of teamwork from the players, Sergi Roberto showed his quality in midfield, motivated Benfica dominated the first half and Barca Keeper Jose Pinto was best player in game's first half.
