Being 'Liberal' will cost Imran Khan his life: Taliban

Karachi: Calling himself a 'liberal' has shivered Pakistan's ex-cricketing giant Imran Khan's life. Khan's life is now at stake after he has been openly challenged for life by the Talibans over his infectious remarks that the militant group has not liked.

Imran Khan, who stepped into political assertion after he bid adieu to the Cricket, is the chairman of the Tehreek-e-Insaaf party in Pakistan. His party holds one of the strongest political positions in the country.

The anti-human group has, in an interview, has challenged to kill the Pakistani ex-cricket star turned politician.
The brawl came after Khan decided to carry out a march to Taliban’s tribal monopoly along the Afghan border to protest US drone attacks.

The Taliban has clearly said that he (Khan) holds a planned march to their tribal stronghold along the Afghan border to protest US drone attacks, they would shoot him.

Despite the Pakistani Taliban group also opposes the strikes, spokesperson Ahsanullah Ahsan said they would target Imran Khan because he calls himself a "liberal".

Liberal is a term that is associated with a lack of religious belief by the Talibans. Ahasanullah Khan also warned that they would attack anyone who participates in upcoming elections.

"If he comes, our suicide bombers will target him," Ahsan said in an interview on Monday.
