Bharti, RCom up in revenue market share, Uninor lags
New Delhi: Bharti has gained the number one position as it kept on gaining revenue market share in the September quarter on the other side the Vodafone and Idea were on the losing site.

Reliance Communications and Uninor were the surprises packages as the former gained share while the latter lost.
Reports suggest that during the September quarter, GSM telco revenues summed up to Rs 36,760 crore, slightly less than Rs 36,929 crore in the June quarter.

According to experts, the revenue market share gain of Bharti Airtel in the September quarter (31 percent vs 30.3 percent quarter on quarter) could well be reversed in the current quarter as the country’s largest mobile services company loses aggression.

Reliance Communications (8 percent vs 7.67 percent) faces headwinds as it continues to be in a fundamentally weak position. Nothing much has changed for it despite earning more revenue from subscribers.

Vodafone and Idea lost revenue market share for the second consecutive quarter, while Uninor, seen as one of the most aggressive telcos, lost share for the first time due to reduced footprint.

Vodafone's share was 22.12 percent vs 22.53 percent; Idea was 14.4 percent vs 14.95 percent and Uninor was 2.34 percent vs 2.6 percent.

The top three operators, Bharti, Vodafone, and Idea, continued to dominate the GSM market with about 67.4 percent market share (vs. 65.9 percent in 2Q12).
