Chennai: The Billa II trailer which was all set to be launched on Monday, however was cancelled due to unconfirmed reasons. The fans were disappointed after the news came across and were looking for answers on social networking sites to know the reason of the cancellation of the event.

An event was scheduled on July 2, at the Anna Centenary Library, with the female lead in the flick, Bruna Abdullah and Parvathy Omanakuttan, however the event was cancelled. According to a source, "There was an idea to do a three-hour long program but the dancers had no time to practice and the final program was just one hour long. The logistics could not be worked out. They also wanted to invite other stars and directors to the launch but the question arose that since Ajith would not come for a promotional event, would others come readily?"

There was a buzz that the police was in touch with the organizers of the event to check if Ajith would make an appearance, as they wanted to ensure that there was enough security since thousands of his fans were expected to attend the event.
