Acting was in Kareena’s blood, since childhood, she always wanted to become an actress. The Kapoor girl did her schooling from Jamnabai Nursee School followed by Welham Girls School in Dehradun. After that she studied commerce for two years at Mithibai College, Mumbai and later did a three month course at Harward University, USA. Her passion for acting began when she started her training at an acting institute.
The diva is known for her performances in different film geners like romantic, comedy, drama and thriller. Her debut career began with a flop - Refugee, where she played a character of a Bangladeshi girl opposite Abhishek Bachchan. In the later years she received a setback in her career with films like Khushi, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Mujhse Dosti Karoge etc, where her performances can be called - disasters.
Though, this was just the beginning for her. She merged herself into an actress and proved that she is no less than any other actress. The growth her career began with film Chameli for which she received Filmfare Special Performance Award. Her next films Aitraaz, Fida, Hulchul, Bewafaa and Kyun Ki did not do well in the box office but she surely gained word of appreciation from the film critics.
Then came Kareena’s next film, Jab We Met where she was cast opposite her ex boyfriend Shahid Kapur. Her character was of a young girl Geet, who lived life to the fullest. She received several awards including the best actress award from Filmfare for her role. There was no looking back then. She then portrayed some of her finest works in films like 3 Idiots, Kurbaan, Bodyguard, Golmaal etc.
After spending 12 years in the industry, we now look forward for her next upcoming film Heroine which is supposedly being anticipated as a blockbuster. With a tough competition in the Bollywood industry, she has still marked herself to be the queen and take the challenge of accepting difficult yet strong roles.
Till then we wish her a very Happy Birthday and good luck for her career and life.
