BJP to demand PM's resignation in Parliament today

New Delhi: The Parliament is ready to see another day when the top two political parties, Congress and Bhartiya Janata Party will again be face to face as the opposition lead by BJP is set to demand Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation over Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report on the allocation of coal blocks today.

There was a high level meet at LK Advani's residence where the top brass of the BJP discussed the further strategy of the party in the Parliament, where it is expected give an aggressive response to the CAG report and try its best to make Manmohan Singh resign. Prime Minister Singh on the other hand is all prepared to face the heat as he is expected to give statement in both the Houses of Parliament on this issue.

Now the question remains that will he be able to say anything as BJP has made it clear that it will stall both the Houses of Parliament. As per sources, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is expected to face the ire of BJP as it prepares to demand a resignation for he held the coal portfolio at the time the coal blocks were allocated. "The BJP is going to very aggressively pursue the demand raised by the Leaders of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Friday that the Prime Minister needs to introspect and resign because he was himself the Coal Minister for most of the period the allocation of coal blocks was done," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

As per BJP, the Prime Minister is "morally, politically and personally" responsible for the Rs 1.86 lakh crore estimated loss that has been mentioned in the CAG report. It will be the first time since the report was tabled in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha that the two Houses of Parliament will meet.
