The Hollywood's legend director admitting his passion for bond films said, "When I first started making movies, the only franchise I cared about and wanted to be part of was James Bond."
Recalling his earlier chance to work with Bond Producer Cubby Broccoli in early 70, he said, "I went to Cubby Broccoli and I asked if I could do one and he said 'No'". He went on to add that he never asked again and went on to make Indiana Jones series.
Young Spielberg always wanted to direct such thriller as he fondly puts it, "When I started out as a TV director, my pie-in-the-sky dream was to make a little movie that would get some notoriety and then Cubby Broccoli would call me and ask me to direct the next James bond pictures".
However, the director still feeling the pinch puts it in lighter vein, "But I could never get Cubby Broccoli to hire me – and now sadly, they can't afford me."
