CONFIRMED: Shakira pregnant with footballer Gerard's child

New York: Rumor swelled as her belly rounded. Yesterday, the Colombian singer Shakira and Gerard Piqué confirmed that they were expecting their first child. The singer has delayed her promotional activities and cancelled her concert that was due on Friday in Las Vegas."As you may know, Gerard and I look with joy the arrival of our first child! Therefore, we decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and push promotional activities we had planned for the coming days," the singer wrote on her Facebook and Twitter account .
The 35 year old Colombian singer announced on Wednesday that she and her companion of 25 years, the Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué (25) of Barcelona, were expecting their first child. In an interview in 2009, Shakira stated to be ready to have children, saying she wanted to "really have a big belly."

The star confirmed the rumor of several months in the media world. Also, Piqué immediately changed his profile photo Twitter and Facebook by putting a pacifier!
The announcement of the pregnancy comes as Shakira is being sued by her former partner, who is seeking damages after their separation. The star has been in a relationship with Antonio de la Rua, the son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua, for over ten years. They separated in 2010.
