Pilot asked to apologize for rapping on Air India failures | Watch Rap Video

New Delhi: Air India pilot Anjum Chhabra apologizes for his allegedly sexist rap song aimed at AI describing the condition of Dreamliner's pilots, who have been grounded since Januray.

Chhabra, in the beginning of his video runs a message which says that the following content is not meant to hurt any one's feelings. In fact he also says that he loves AI and is thankful to ICPA, but it seems that work related joke hasn't gone down well with some seniors. He is slammed for making a bigot video for which he had to write an apology to the management.

The video uploaded on YouTube shows the pilot complaining of nonpayment issues and being grounded for a long time. May be it is the repeated use of 'F' word, which miffed senior authorities. An extract from the song is pasted here and the lyrics go like this: "I m filing bankruptcy n I m getting broke. Y don't we punish those who f***ed up ma airline. How do I fly with women in 60ies. They call them airhostesses, we call them aunties. I work for Air India n call myself a Maharaja. But Maharaja getting f***ed with all the band baja."

The song further details on AIs pathetic situation and sings, "They don't even lemme leave, they don't gimme NOC (no objection certificate). Plz tell them it isn't Air Force, I aint at LoC (line of control)".

However, the 28 year old co-pilot also declares his love for AI and believes that someday a possible solution will emerge out. But this certainly wasn't enough to impress management. On Tuesday, Chhabra had to go through a long round of discussion with his seniors explaining his conduct. Reportedly, he has also given a written apology letter to the authorities. Grudging over the act, a senior AI official said, "Discipline has to be maintained by all employees. People are free to leave the company and then do what they want. Will any private company tolerate such behavior from any employee? We will examine his track record before taking a final view on his immature act."

The pilot has been refrained from media interaction, but his friends say that he is a keen musician and can play many instruments. One of his colleague was quoted saying, "He can play many instruments like guitar and piano and has sung some songs too. This was his first video and his intention was not to hurt anyone's feelings. He wanted to show what's happening in AI in a light-hearted manner and this video was meant for circulation only among the pilot/airline community."
