Delhi and surrounding regions witness drizzling climate

New Delhi: Delhiites woke up to a hot and muggy morning on Tuesday with the minimum temperature settling at 29.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above the average for the season. The met department has forecast light rains later in the day. However, surrounding regions have been receiving continued drizzle throughout the morning up till noon.

"The skies would be generally cloudy by afternoon. Light rains and thunder showers are likely later in the day," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

On Monday, the rainfall recorded in the city was a meagre 0.1 mm, while the maximum temperature stood at 37.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average. "Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to stay around 37 and 29 degrees Celsius," the official added.

Humidity at 8:30 am on Tuesday stood at 75 percent..
