'Dhoom 3' to be new revolution in Bollywood

Chicago: Yash Raj Films' (YRF) 'Dhoom 3' is going to be the first movie to be released in IMAX theaters. The film will be released in IMAX format after being digitally re-mastered. The official announcement was made here on Friday.

One of the most popular movies in Bollywood will release in IMAX theaters which are known for their high-end digital projection and sound system across the world, in 2013.

"IMAX has always symbolised high quality film-entertainment and experience and this vision of the company works very well with the culture of YRF, which has been synonymous with Indian film entertainment over the last four decade," YRF chief Yash Chopra said in a statement.

"We are indeed happy to announce our association with IMAX for the additional release of 'Dhoom 3' in this exciting format next year. Added to the anticipated thrill that the film promises, this experience will give it an all new edge of the seat dimension altogether," he added.

The much awaited movie is being directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film is staring Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif and being shot in the windy city Chicago.

"With its riveting action set pieces, global locales and stunning visuals, 'Dhoom 3' is an ideal film to take advantage of our immersive format as we begin our initiative with Indian language/Bollywood films," says Greg Foster, chairman and president, IMAX Filmed Entertainment.

It is to be known that there are 643 IMAX theaters in 52 countries across the World as per the reports till March 2012.
