London: India's Olympic team partners Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna entered the men's doubles second round at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships defeating Marcel Felder and Malek Jaziri here on Wednesday. The two players were in news recently when they made themselves unavailable for selection to partner the Indian number 1. Leander Paes giving the All India Tennis Association (AITA) a tough task to select the teams for the London Olympics 2012 as their first choice was to pair Mahesh Bhupathi with Leander Paes.
The seventh seeds got the better of the Uruguayan-Tunisian combine 6-0, 7-6, 6-2 in a first round match lasting 96 minutes. Bhupathi-Bopanna next face either Mikhail Elgin and Denis Istomin or Pablo Andujar and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek play their opening match on Thursday.
