Patna: The Nitish Kumar government in Bihar seems to be in a mood to actually reshape the landscape of the state by transforming it into a developed one, something which has not happened for ages.
According to reports, in March the state will have its first survey of industrial units to assess the industrial scenario and to frame measures to attract investments.
"The survey will be completed by June," official Jitendra Kumar Sinha said on Thursday.
The survey will collect information about industrial units including micro, small, medium and large enterprises.
The government will appoint retired officials of National Sample Survey Organisation for the work.
The survey will throw light on the number of functional industrial units, employment generated by them, level of investments and production and exports.
"This data would help the government to frame policies and initiative for industrial development," Sinha said.
Bihar Industry Minister Renu Kumaeri Kishwaha said industrialists were showing keen interest in Bihar after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar initiated steps to develop the state's infrastructure.
Last year, a 30-page report of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) pointed that the state was keen on promoting the investment climate.
