This change or rather an add up feature to the search engine comes up as the company believes that sometimes what we are searching is not available in the public domain, however, it may be contained elsewhere like in emails etc. For such scenarios this service will enhance the capabilities of the search engine and make it more customized. "Sometimes the best answer to your question isn't available on the public web, it may be contained elsewhere, such as in your email," Google search Senior Vice-President Amit Singhal said.
The technology that is on test stage as of now seems to be getting a good response as Google invited people to visit google.com/experimental/gmailfieldtrial to sign up for a trail of the new feature. "We're developing a way to find this information for you that's useful and unobtrusive, and we'd love your feedback," Singhal said. As the trial is in its initial stages it was limited to English language searches only.
The new feature will make the search engine a new experience for example if someone has a hotel booking and he queries for booking on Google any confirmation of bookings from his mailbox will also be listed in the result section of the query which will be time saving and customized as per the specific user.
Though this may seem a small change when compared to the stature of Google, however, as per the company, "these are baby steps, but important ones on our way to building the search engine of the future."
