Anna Hazare turns 75 today | Celebrates birthday with hundreds of children

Ahmednagar: Social activist Anna Hazare celebrated his 75th birthday with hundreds of children at a rehabilitation centre in Ahmednagar situated 40 KM away from his hometown Ralegan Siddhi.

Hazare preferred to keep it a low profile affair due to the drought in Maharashtra. On this occasion, Hazare also laid the foundation stone of an English-medium school. Free education to underprivileged and differently able children will be provided to all.

The event organizer NGO Snehalya apart from running program for HIV patients also runs rehabilitation projects for prostitutes and their children, orphans and other underprivileged children.

The NGO also organised an 'Amrut Mahotsav' ceremony in honour of Hazare.Several other NGOs from the Ahmednagar district also jointly distributed one lakh books about Hazare's life and his message to the youth.
