HTC Butterfly, the HD phablet with 440 PPI | Price and Specification
New Delhi: HTC delivers the unexpected. The Taiwanese company has launched its flagship model, a phablet equipped with 5 inch full HD screen - HTC Butterfly. In India, it costs a “pocket pinching” Rs 45,990 i.e. the smartphone is costlier than the iPhone 5 (16 GB), Samsung Galaxy Note II and Nokia Lumia 920, which is another great that one can buy with that kind of money.

HTC might be confident enough with the features they are giving at such a boisterous pricing but we are unsure on how many boys are going to buy a phone with that name. The company says that they have rendered the device with best of features that one would not see on other high end smartphones.

Butterfly, with a pixel density of 440 PPI, the phone puts a display worth viewing. The features that the company boasts about the device are as follows.

- The world’s first Full HD 1080p screen. A 5” super LCD 3 screen achieves maximum definition for the ultimate visual experience.
- A front camera to rival most rear cameras. Widest angle f2.0 front lens coupled with ground-breaking low light performance. The camera has a view of 88 degree, an ultra-wide angle lens.
- Quad Core power that’s miles ahead. Driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, optimized for the fastest mobile experience.

It has an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash equipped with a feature called ‘HTC VideoPic’ allows you to capture video and still images at the same time. ‘Continuous Shooting’ takes multiple photos at up to four frames per second. ‘Auto Portrait’ makes it easier to take photos of yourself and your friends with automatic face detection and a countdown timer.

The phone also has a built-in amplifier for Beats Audio that gives deeper bass and an extremely good quality sound with an unmatched sharpness. To access data, one can use the NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi (with Wi-Fi Direct), 3G, microSD slot or a microUSB port. The internal memory of the device is 16GB that can be further expanded up to 32 GB with a microSD card, in addition to 25GB of free Dropbox cloud storage from HTC.

HTC has provided a 2,020 mAh battery to match up the working of the features. At 140 grams and Rs 45K+ price, this is quite a phone to handle.
