Kolkata: Well known Nobel laureate Amartya Sen said that the Indian government should act strong against smokers to discourage them from endangering the lives of passive smokers.
In a function organised by the Cancer Foundation of India He said, "I do believe that the government should act tougher on smokers because a smoker can't force others to smoke passively."
"The government should make the discouragement towards smoking much stronger," said Sen.
He also added, education had a lot to do in fight against cancer. He also cited a few reasons why poverty remained a problem in fighting cancer.
