It looks beautiful though but its limited features did not striked people enough. According to the Forbes website, without Steve Jobs, Apple is just becoming a normal technology company.
Here's a look at some key features that Apple iPhone 5 lacks:
- No radical new design, just a centimeter taller
- No NFC (Near Field Communication)
- Not much improvement in battery life
- No biometric security
- Plus there are applications like YouTube, missing on the new iPhone
With all these features omitted, not many feel that Apple will be able to grab customers' attention this time.
Like the way iPhone 4 came with Retina Technology, iPhone 4s had Siri but iPhone 5 had none such feature over which discussions could be done or the rivals could have taken as a threat.
While on the other hand, another media house said that the iPhone 5 made a "glowing first impression." A reputed writer wrote that the iPhone 5 "looks awfully inviting from my vantage point." But how audience has taken the launch, is surfacing steadily, with a hint of criticism.
Not much development was seen in iPhone after Steve Jobs passed away. His legacy ended with iPhone 4S. Many Apple lovers seem underwhelmed. It seems doubtful that the new iPhone 5 will match the hype, created this time. We all will surely miss Steve Jobs as his absence has made a lot of difference for the Apple.
What made Apple different from other technology companies was its surprise element and innovation. What atleast Apple could have done this time was to make an effort to look different from the other high end smart phone in the market, although they did try, but the job is not pulled out right. Without Steve Jobs, Apple is likely to lose its appeal which it is so famous for.
Perhaps under the leadership of Tim Cook we probably need some more time to truly understand the direction of Apple or unless the company has a visionary who will lead the product line. We must also remember that Apple still has amazing designers and engineers. So perhaps not all is yet lost after all it’s only been a year since Tim took over.
