Djokovic's win over Juan Martin del Potro with the final scoreline of 6-3, 6-2 is being seen as a revenge of the Olympic loss that he suffered against the Argentine. It was an all Swiss affair in the other semi final as Federer defeated Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6 (4), 6-3 to make a place in the final.
This will be the first time in Cincinnati that the top two players in the world will compete for the crown. The odds will be in favour of the current World No 1 Roger Federer, who will be chasing his fifth title at Cincinnati Open.
"When I was a kid I wasn't thinking of winning five Cincinnatis, but then again here I am in this great situation being able to do it, the first man ever. So I'm obviously excited. Very often when I do now reach a final there is something on the line. Here we go there is something there," Federer exclaimed.
If Roger takes the title he will increase his lead on Novak as the World No 1 with quite some points and with only one Grand Slam left it will be an uphill task for the Serbian to chase Federer down.
