Kanpur: The Schedule of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) 2013 will be issued in September 2012, according to the reports. Plan is to conduct the examination in April 2013, so that results can be announced in May. According to the sources, the decision was taken during a meet of the 9-member senate of IIT on Saturday. Prof. Niraj Mishra, Prof YN Singh and Prof CS Upadhayay chaired the meet and said that IIT council or ministry will not wait for any initiative. Favoring the decision taken by the senate of conducting own entrance exam, they said that the forms will be available in October-November 2012.
Sources say that discussions are going on with the faculty forum of IIT Mumbai and Delhi so that they can also oppose the council or ministry’s decision. After which the seats will be filled by appearing in the entrance examination conducted by IIT-Kanpur and if it happens then the council or ministry have to go with the decision of Academic Senate.
As per the representatives of faculty forum, Chairman Prof Sanjay Govind Dhande has informed the ministry about the decision of Academic Senate.
