Katrina Kaif thanks Salman for his guidance

Mumbai: It was Salman Khan who helped Katrina Kaif come out of her Boom skin and revive her image in the industry. Notably, apart from her debut, Kat never went for raunchy characters, instead established her feet in the industry and today she is amongst the most sorted after actors in the industry.

Other projects like Sarkar, Maine Pyar Kyu Kia, Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye and many more just improved her image and skills no doubt. Apparently, her then boyfriend Salman was always by her side helping her grow step by step. The actress is thankful to her ex flame for helping her throughout. In a recent interview she said, "I believe in destiny, God's hand and hard work. The audience has accepted me. But it's also true that I've known Salman for eight years. He's helped me as a person. His presence in my life was for guidance and straightforward and simple views. He has immense knowledge of the industry and this is where he helped me from going astray."

However, she also feels that everyone in the industry needs guidance in the beginning. "Yes, I owe him gratitude, but it's unfair to say that I would have not got a break without Salman. In this industry, everyone has people in their lives to help them in the beginning. Salman was helped by Sooraj Barjatya. And Salman also helped Sneha Ullal and Zarine Khan," she said.

The actress further talked about her present relationship status with Khan and clarified, "I am single. Our (hers and Salman's) equation is very different today and I believe that exes can be great friends."

The duo was last seen together in David Dhawan's 2007 release Partner. Their forthcoming action-thriller Ek Tha Tiger will be in cinemas on August 15.
