Maha Kumbh begins with first Shahi Snan on Makar Sankranti

Kumbh Nagar, Allahabad: With first Shahi Snan, ceremonial Royal bathing by Naga Sadhus on Makar Sankranti morning, auspicious Maha Kumbh 2013 will begin.According to reports, this time 13 Akharas including prominent sadhus and saints would commence royal bathing from 0500 hrs tomorrow and will continue till afternoon.
Mela authorities have given every Akhara around 40 minutes time for their Shahi Snan but can be relaxed also if needed.
However, tight security arrangements have been made on the occasion and people’s entry has been banned.
The Shahi Snan is a very distinctive and attractive feature in the Kumbh and marks the proper beginning of Kumbh.
