Mallika's security cover already has 15 bodyguards, and considering the recent celebrity assaults, she has asked the organizers to double it. An insider revealed, "Mallika wants around 30 bodyguards when she travels to various cities for promotions. She wants to avoid any kind of untoward incident."
While discussing her tour with the organizers, Mallika was pretty clear that since handling fans becomes difficult at times, she should be provided extra security. "Seeing that a few recent incidents have involved female stars, the makers too don't want to take any chances. So they have agreed to beef up Mallika's." added the insider.
Mallika, along with her co-star Vivek Oberoi, will be travelling to cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Chandigarh, Pune, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.
An additional safety layer will obviously increase the security expenses and if rumors are to be believed, 15 extra bodyguards are costing INR 40 lakh to the film makers.
KLPD Producer Amit Chandra said, "I'm glad that my actors are going out of the way to promote KLPD. So, as a producer, it's my responsibility to make sure that their security is given utmost importance."
Salman Khan also lately increased his security to 12 guards from 6.
