New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to deliver a farewell address to people on the eve of demitting office post serving as the head of a UPA coalition government for 10 years.
He will demit as PM of India on May 17, a day after the announcement of the Lok Sabha poll results across the country. Earlier this year, Manmohan Singh had announced his retirement from politics after leading two successive United Progressive Alliance (UPA) governments.
"It will be a kind of address to the people. The process of writing the speech has begun," a PMO official told a news agency.
On January 3, 2014, Manmohan Singh held his final press conference, which also was only his third in 10 years, and said that he has made up his mind to retire.
