Mercedes Benz R350 diesel rolled in India at Rs 58.7 L

New Delhi: Mercedes Benz to upgrade its ranking in India as the apex automobile company in the luxury market, launched a diesel variant of the R350 here on Wednesday. The new model has been priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 58.7 lacs.

The director of Sales & Marketting, Mercedes Benz India, Debashis Mitra, present at the launch ceremony said, “We are sure that the diesel variant of this crossover model will be an attractive proposition for our valuable customers.”

The engine is a diesel powered 2,987cc Callipered to an automatic transmission that delivers 210hp to all wheels with 400Nm torque. The cat comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power driver seat, Bluetooth and an older version of Mercedes' COMAND control interface.

A 2+2+2 seating arrangement (for a total capacity of six people) is also included for every model, with a 2+3+2 configuration optional with the luggage space varying from 633 litres to 2385 litres.

The German company is finding it hard to to enthrone the title of best luxury carmaker in India. They lost the crown to their rival company hailing from the same homeland.
