Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh state capital was blotted in black on Sunday night after a minor, residing in slums, was abducted and sexually assaulted in posh Gomtinagar area.
Shyamlal (name changed), an Unnao dweller, who resides in slum besides the railway track in Gomtinagar's Vishwas Khand-2, was fast asleep in the night with his wife and five children. He was sleeping beside the girl who has been assaulted, whereas his wife and four kids were sleeping on a different plank.
While Shyamlal woke up at about three in the night and didn't find his daughter beside her, he enquired his wife about her. But, she too refused about the girl's whereabouts. They started to search but couldn't find her. The desperate parents ran through the lanes of Gomtinagar, they searched in every possible corner of area; they also searched in areas that were quite far but couldn't find the daughter.
While searching the girl in the morning, the parents reached the fruit market under the bridge near Mithaiwala Chauraha when they came to know that one Sunita has saved a child from the dogs in the night.
To this, the parents reached out for Sunita and found their daughter. Sunita, wife of Munna, an acrobat, also resides in slums near the crossing. She told that while sleeping outside in open she woke up to stray dogs' barking during in the night. At this, she went to shoo-off the dogs but found a small girl surrounded by them. She at once reached out to the girl for help and picked her up to home.
The abducted girl was bleeding fiercely.
She (the minor), in the beginning said that her own father had taken her to the crossing but later told that two men had taken her to the crossing and assaulted her. They also beat her.
The Manoj Mishra, station officer (SO), Gomtinagar, sent the bleeding girl to the hospital and has registered the case of sexual assault against the unidentified men.
On the other hand, Ashutosh Pandey, Inspector General, Lucknow said that the case has been registered against the unidentified men and the probe is on.
Police have found a blood stained undergarment from the spot which has been sent for forensic tests. Dog squad has also been brought into play as they would sniffle through to the culprits.
Probably Dogs Saved The Girl!
While the minor was being assaulted sexually under the Gomtinagar over bridge, a group of stray dogs gathered around them. Fearing death, the assaulters escaped else they would have probably killed the girl with fear of being recognized.
