MTV India, Swipe Telecom unveil 7-inch phablet for Rs 9,490
New Delhi: In the ever growing market of gadgets, with Samsung having a huge share, MTV India in collaboration with Swipe Telecom has unveiled a new phablet, MTV Slash. The phablet sports a display of 7-inch and carries a price tag of Rs 9,490.

As per reports, the device will be available with as many as 10,000 retailers across India along with a number of online retailers like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Infibeam, eBay among others.

The phablet will target the youth as it comes pre-loaded with applications like 'MTV India' that allows the users to enjoy all the MTV shows, amazing videos, pictures, blogs. The 'MTV Hottie' app will enable the users to have a sneak peek into the participants of the reality show Splitsvilla.

EVP & Business Head, MTV India, Aditya Swamy said, "Super performance at a super price". that's what young people want and that is exactly what the MTV Slash phablet is. After a very successful start to our partnership with Swipe Telecom, we have now moved to a brand + content leverage. Slash now comes fully loaded with the MTV experience and is embedded across the MTV eco system."

The technical specifications of the handset are - a 2.1 GHZ dual core processor, Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, weighs 320g and sports 5MP rear and 0.3MP front shooter.

Talking about MTV slash, VJ Nikhil Chinapa said, "I am a gadget freak and I am constantly looking out for new phones and other gadgets. While there are many existing brands in the country, what will set MTV Slash apart from the competitors are the MTV applications. We want the youth, the MTV generation to get hooked on to this phablet."
