Mumbai: Fire at Oberoi Mall, fire tenders rushed to the spot

Mumbai: On Wednesddy, fire broke out at the third floor and the food court of Oberoi Mall in Goregaon. Preliminary reports indicated an electrical short circuiting as the cause for the fire. No casualties have been reported. Eight water tankers and eight fire engines have been rushed to the spot. Flames engulfed the third floor of the mall, capturing the top floors with it too. The rush from the spot also resulted in traffic jams in the area, making it difficult for the fire tenders to shut the inferno.
Oberoi Mall is one of the biggest malls in the western suburbs of Mumbai. The fire caused panic among the shop owners and mall authorities, who immediately evacuated the mall.
