Presidential Poll: NCP may take action against Sangma

New Delhi: Action may be taken against National Congress Party (NCP) leader PA Sangma if he will contest the presidential election as his party has asked him to withdraw his name and to support UPA (United Progressive Alliance) candidate Pranab Mukherjee.

According to NCP leader Praful Patel the party is not supporting Sangma and we hope that he will not contest. He also said that Sangma is a senior leader and he should not defy the party’s direction or the line of thinking.

Patel said, "The party's direction and the line is to support Pranab Mukherjee unconditionally.”

Refusing to withdraw his name from the presidential race even NCP chief Sharad Pawar asked him to do so, earlier Sangama has said that he had got support from many political parties and would contest the election.

Sangma had got support of AIADMK and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and is expected to meet Shiromani Akali Dal leaders on Monday, asking them to prop him.
