Presidential poll: PA Sangma to meet BJP legislators in Lucknow

Lucknow: In order to canvass support for the July 19 poll, presidential candidate of the BJP, BJD, AIADMK and various other parties PA Sangma, will visit the Uttar Pradesh capital on Wednesday.

According to the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) chief whip in the state, Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, Sangma, soon after his arrival in the city, will hold a meeting with the party's legislators.

Other than meeting BJP legislators at the Central Hall of the Legislative Assembly, Sangma will also hold a brief meeting with senior BJP leaders.

Before his departure to Patna after lunch, Sangma will interact with the media too.

Sangma is contesting the elections against Pranab Mukherjee, the candidate of the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA).

Mukherjee visited Lucknow last week and met Samjawadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati and also interacted with legislators of the two parties, which are supporting his candidature.
