Mumbai: Actress Priyanka Chopra, who is also a trained Western classical singer, will have to wait a little more to sing in Bollywood. The reason being her contract with the Universal Music Group and Desi Hits, which forbids her record for anyone else unless their music album releases.
According to the latest buzz composer Pritam Chakraborty wanted the actor to sing for her upcoming film Barfi!
as the male lead Ranbir Kapoor is also lending his voice to one of the songs. However, the worldwide musical agreement has made it impossible for her for the time being.
As per sources, "One song in Barfi!
, is still to be recorded. That's the one where Priyanka expresses her take on life and her feelings towards Ranbir. But Pritam's desire ended up becoming a distant dream."
"Pritam was disappointed but he could do nothing about it. Now, the song will be sung by someone else, it could even be a newcomer. That again will be Pritam's call," the source further added.
It is said that Priyanka took music lesions from Samantha Edwards on the sets of Barfi!
and not singing for the film was disappointing for her too. However, the song is scheduled for a recording this weekend but the singer has not been finalized yet.
