Rajesh Khanna

Mumbai: Rajesh Khanna was seen romancing in his reel life but the first superstar of Bollywood was romantic in his real life too. He had affairs with his female co-stars like Mumtaz and Tina Munim but finally entered the wedlock with actress Dimple Kapadia.

As per sources, before meeting Rajesh, Dimple was dating his Bobby co-star Rishi Kapoor and when Khanna proposed her for marriage, she threw the ring in the sea which was gifted to her by Rishi.

Rajesh was 15 years older than Dimple but he was deeply fallen in love with her that he decided to marry Kapadia at any cost. Finally in March, 1973, the couple tied the knot, six months ahead of Dimple's first Bollywood flick Bobby released.

However the marriage did not last long and the couple separated in 1984 as Khanna's busy schedule kept him away much of the time and Dimple became interested in pursuing an acting career.

Sources say that Rajesh did not want Dimple to do films again hence he asked her to quit Bollywood. Initially, the actress agreed and sacrificed her career for her love and two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna.

But after Rajesh's name linked with beautiful actress of 80's Tina Munim, Dimple decided to leave him. Though the couple got separated but did not complete the divorce proceedings.

Later Khanna and Tina revealed their relationship and announced that they are in love with each other. They went on to act in several films including Fifty Fifty, Souten, Bewafai and Suraag. They were the most talked about couple in tinsel town back then.

Tina was romantically involved with Rajesh till the time she decided to leave the industry to pursue higher studies. This relationship of Kaka also did not last long and in an interview Tina revealed that Khanna was incapable of loving anyone. He was only ever in love with himself.

Apart from Tina, Rajesh had a very close relation with the then fashion designer and model Anju Mahendroo and both were in a live-in relationship for a long time. Khanna's name was also linked with Mumtaz, who left Bollywood after Rajesh tied the knot with Dimple

Sources say that Rajesh's disloyalty broke Dimple otherwise she would not have left him.

Ultimately Kaka's fame ended and he went into lonliness. Gradually his health deteriorated and the superstar took his last breath on July 18. Dimple and his entire family was there by his side in his last moment.
