Ranbir Kapoor's Barfi act might fetch him a national award

Mumbai: Ranbir Kapoor riding high on the success of Rockstar is all set to mesmerize his fans with his skills in Barfi a romantic comedy directed by Anurag Basu. It's recently released trailers are getting rave reviews and Ranbir's performance is being appreciated by all.

Ranbir is portraying role of boy named Murphy (Ranbir) whose is fondly called ‘Barfi’ by everyone. Although, he can neither speak not hear he still charms people with his ready pranks. He enjoys a bitter sweet relationship with Shruti (Ileana) and Jhilmil (Priyanka) leads to number of events which change his life course.

According to movie rushes, the movie can fetch National Award for Ranbir Kapoor. Barfi will be released on September 14. Although, characters played by Barfi actors Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are autistic and deaf and mute but film has nothing to do with disability.

Ranbir went on to add, "I would say that one should not associate this film with disability... this film is not about disability. It is a coincidence that these two characters are deaf, mute and one is autistic. But one will not feel that it is a disability film. It's about enjoying life, giving happiness, feeling love. It's a love story."

Her co star in the movie Priyanka Chopra says, "When we meet differently-abled people, or people who are special, we have a view point that they have a dark, sorrowful life we feel bad for them, it is not a film about that. There are people who smile, laugh, fall in love, enjoy.. it's that side of their life. So it is not about disability.
