Ranvir Sena chief killing: Nitish Kumar orders CBI probe

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the killing of Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Singh.

According the reports, after meeting with the state’s top police officials and home department’s officials at his residence, the chief minister took the decision.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, RJD chief, LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan had demanded a CBI probe into the killing.

Reports reveal that a special investigation team (SIT) of the Bihar Police has detained a close aide of Janata Dal-United (JD-U) legislator Sunil Pandey on Tuesday from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.

Brahmeshwar Singh (70) was shot dead by unidentified gunmen last week in Ara, triggering violent protest by his supporters in the state.
