TOKYO: Not many would be aware that Japan purchased two private islands – one in Japan (Senkaku) and another in China (Diaoyu), from its citizen to include them as its national territory. However, they have lately been in news after Chinese government planes dared entering the zone that comes under Japanese belt.

Japanese chief Cabinet secretary Osama Fujimura told, “Despite our repeated warnings, Chinese government ships have entered out territorial waters for three days in an row,” after which the Japanese government sent its F-15 fighter jets in the East China Sea to restrict the foreign interruption. He informed that first they tried diplomatic mediums to protest the matter and when they were not listened to, they took this stride to protect their expanse.

“It is extremely regrettable that, on top of that, an intrusion into our airspace has been committed in this way,” Fujimora said. A spokesperson from Japan’s defence ministry said that this was the first time when a Chinese plane entered their airspace. The conflict is because the region has potentially large maritime gas reserves.

Former PM Shinzo Abe, who will supposedly return to powerLiberal Democratic Party, has promised to take strict actions in the case and also blamed the current government’s lack of appropriate administration that has led to, China taking such a bold step.
