New Delhi: Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar sworn in as Rajya Sabha member on Monday. The cricketer was nominated along with veteran actress Rekha and industrialist Anu Aga on April 27.
As per the reports, Sachin was accompanied by his wife Anjali and took the oath in Hindi in the chamber of chairman Hamid Ansari. Tendulkar was presented shawl.
Reports reveal that Rajiv Shukla and V Narayanswamy were also present.
The cricketer’s nomination for the Upper House was approved by President Pratibha Patil on the recommendations of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Tendulkar had to wait to take his oath because of his IPL commitment.
Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday wished Sachin for his new avenue and said that he is sure that Tendulkar will do well.
After former hockey captain Dilip Tirkey Tendulkar is the second sportsperson in the House.
