Salman Khan cancels Lucknow visit, concerned for fans' security
Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan who apparently has his biggest bulk of fans from UP, lately refused to visit the state for shooting Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg 2. The supposed reason behind the denial was security, as the administration refused to guarantee the actor's and his fans' safety.

It is said that Salman along with brother Arbaaz was to visit Lucknow and Kanpur for shooting some portions of his forthcoming film. But the administration 'strongly advised' Khans against Salman's visit to the scheduled cities.

A well placed source from Lucknow said, "Salman bhai never joined us here in Lucknow. He is not expected to join us. Kuch danga-phasaad (riots) ka lafda hai. Arbaaz bhai decided to shoot in UP with the rest of the cast. Salmanbhai won't join us either here in Lucknow or in Kanpur when we shoot there in a couple of days. Please don't mention the date when we're shooting in Kanpur. We've been asked to keep mum over schedules because crowds gather days in advance wherever in UP they hear we will shoot."

The locals too were not updated with the information that Salman skipped shooting in his fans' cities in anticipation that people might react bitter in disappointment of seeing their hero in real.

Ask Arbaaz of his shooting experiences in the state and he said, "It's been chaotic here. We didn't bring Salman. He will now join us directly at Satara for the shooting of the climax. But the people here gathered in hordes for the shooting in the outdoors probably in the hope that Salman would turn up. And when he didn't, they got restless."

The highly confidential shooting schedule somehow leaked and the mob gathered at shooting locations. Arbaaz had a tough time finishing the shots here as he said, "I don't know how the locals got to know. But they were there before us in several locations hoping to see Salman. We had to shoot secretly and flee from some of the outdoors before the Salman-crazy crowds jumped on us."

Salman's admirers in Lucknow didn't want to miss an instance to have a close look at their favorite star, so a mere hope of seeing their star created much frenzy.

Ask Arbaaz of his plans to shoot in Kanpur and he said, "I believe there was trouble in Kanpur a few days ago when we were not even scheduled to shoot there. What do we do! We just want to slip in to Kanpur secretly and quickly do the shooting."
