It’s been told that Sony has already acquired the rights of the film when it went under production, a year ago, and they agreed to pay the sum because they are sure of its success and believe that advertisements will fetch them even greater amount when the film is telecast. A source says, “Advertisers have full faith in the success of Ek Tha Tiger, having already sensed a large television viewership for the film. So, the channel should not have any problem in paying a huge price for the rights.” He also adds, “Satellite right deals are made on the basis of the status of a star and the interest of advertisers.”
Since it is one of the most awaited film of the year, both Salman Khan and Katrina fans, who are willing to see how the post-split chemistry can work can fetch the makers bundles of moolah. An equal keenness by audience is expected when film witnesses a television releases, therefore they are not stepping back when they are being asked steep amounts. It will be the biggest pre-release grosser if Sony has signed the deal.
Made with a budget of Rs 117 crore, Ek Tha Tiger makers made a smart choice by pairing Salman-Katrina together. And releasing it at Independence day, which will fall close to Eid this year, they can easily eye a sure shot accomplishment.
