Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger still not in 100 crore club

Mumbai: Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger (ETT) is roaring loud at the box office with its collection nearing INR 100 crore in just five days. The actor broke his own record set by Bodyguard, which grossed INR 85 crore in the same time.

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film opened to a humongous response at the box office, with 100 percent occupancy in both multiplexes and single screen cinemas. As anticipated, the film made huge collections with INR 32.92 crore on its opening day. This broke Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath's first day collection record which was INR 23 crore.

However, the collection dropped down by 50 percent on the very second day (Thursday), and further went down on Friday. With Saturday and Sunday approaching, the movie regained its pace. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh estimated the market and tweeted the details, "#EkThaTiger *India* Sunday trends: Better than Saturday. Another BIG jump expected today."

On the first four days of its release, ETT grossed INR 77.10 crores at the Indian collection centers. The film made a whooping INR 32.92 crore on Wednesday, INR 14.5 on Thursday, INR 12.90 crore on Friday and INR 16.75 crore on Saturday. In order to enter the 100 crore club, it needed at least INR 23 crore in its kitty, but with Sunday collections estimated above INR 21 crore, the film manages sum nearing INR 98 crore only. With this collection in five days, Salman's film marginally escapes INR 100 crore collections in its first weekend but it is sure to cross the mark on Monday which also happens to be Eid.

In the mean time, it is still the highest grosser in its first weekend. Having a look at the overall film, it is evident by now that Salman Khan is the reason behind this huge response. Along with that, Katrina's performance, original story line, film's music and cinematography have contributed their share. The film has received positive response from critics too.
