Mumbai: Bollywood's Tiger Salman Khan's fans were treated with batons by the police here in Kanpur on Tuesday. They were gathered outside Bajaria police station to see their 'bhai-jaan' shooting in the city after a long time.

Somehow, rumor was aired that Salman Khan is coming in the town for the shoot of his upcoming flick 'Dabangg-2'. Just as the buzz reached Sallu's fans, a large number of people gathered here to see their favorite star.

When the star didn't turn up, the crowd thought of being cheated and got furious that they started to set the town afire with rage. Not just this, the agitated mob also wrecked-up the police station.

That's why, Police had to strike-back using their force. ACP Bharat Singh said, "The crowd was standing there hoping that Salman Khan is coming. To control the crowd, we had to resort to lathi charge. We have filed complaint against many."

Earlier, Salman's brother, director-producer Arbazz Khan had camped in the city for the shoot. Because of the security reasons, shooting had to be moved to Lucknow.

Lots of fans are disappointed because of the incident and want an apology from Salman. One of them stated after the incident, "Is this the way to treat fans? I think Salman Khan should apologize, it all happened because of him, this isn't a first time right? He should have made necessary arrangements prior to his arrival."

In the movie, Salman And Sonakshi Sinha are retained but Sonu Sood has been replaced by Prakash Raj for the negative role. Abhinav Kashyap, the director of the first movie has made way for Arbazz Khan, as the actor is directing the sequel of the super-hit movie Dabangg.

The rest of the movie is scheduled to be shot in Lucknow and parts of Kanpur. The shooting will take place in Lucknow between September 9 and 14. The film has received necessary permission from the district authorities and Film Bandhu. Film Bandhu is an organization setup by the govt. of Uttar Pradesh to look into film development in the state.

The site where the film is scheduled to be shot in Lucknow are City Montessori School, LDA-Kanpur road, the bylanes of Qaiserbagh Baradari, lanes of Chowk, Pulwanwa Chowk, Mirza Mandi and Sadar Road near the Annexe.

There is a news that Kareena Kapoor can do an 'item-no' in the movie. The movie has a song called 'Seeti Baja Ke', which is considered to be similer to the song 'Munni Badnam Hui' from the earlier movie.
