SBI security guard kills cashier, guard

Kolkata: A State Bank of India security guard shot dead a cashier and another security guard inside a bank branch here on Friday, police said.

The guard, Sunil Sarkar first shot the cashier in the State Bank of India's Bhowanipore branch (in south Kolkata) a little after noon when banking transactions were on in full swing.

"When locals and bank employees rushed to Sarkar on hearing the shots, he told them that he has shot another person in an upper floor of the branch. In the upper floor, the security guard's body was found. Both victims were declared brought dead in the hospital," a police officer said.

Sarkar has been arrested.

Bank sources said Sarkar was apparently perturbed over being regularly bullied by the two victims.

However, police said no conclusion can be reached till now. "We are interrogating him. We are also viewing the CCTV footage of the branch. We are looking at all angles," a police officer said.
